Today morning with Pune Urban Sketchers. The session was at Mrutyunjajeshwar temple. I decided on this vantage point of an overhead pedestrian bridge. The morning shadows were a perfect opportunity for some experimentation.

Trishund Ganapati (Ganesha with trifurcated trunk). I did not know such an exqusitely carved temple existed right in the middle of Pune city till a couple of days ago when Urban sketchers decided to sketch there.
In the limited time available, I could sketch only the entrance of this 18th century temple. The stone carvings are so exquisite, that they are overwhelming!
Today morning we at Pune Urban Sketchers did our weekly sketchcrawl at Main Street and MG road, Cantonment area.
This smallish junction visible in the picture is in fact a very busy area. It was relatively less maddening today due to Sunday early morning.
Done with pen, inks, watercolors and watercolor pencils.
Sometimes, unpleasant situations present an unexpected opportunity. Last week, I was stuck in a traffic jam when I noticed these abandoned vehicles lying on the roadside, about 20 meters from me.
Thanks to the traffic jam, I could take some photos using my cellphone cam. Completed this sketch today. Done using pen, inks and watercolors.
