Today Morning with Urban Sketchers – Near Panchaleshwar Temple

Today morning outing with Pune Urban Sketchers was near Panchaleshwar Temple, Decaan Gymkhana, Pune.

Since I had drawn many temples in last few months, I decided to look the other way and drew this view of the Sambhaji Bridge visible from near the temple. The arches below the bridge provided a nice perspective view, resulting in this pic.

Pune Sketchers’ Meet – Someshwar Temple in Pashan, Pune

Today’s Pune Sketchers’ meet was scheduled at 8am in the ancient Someshwar temple in Pashan. I had never been there before. The sprawling area has many temple structures, old and new. I decided to focus on these two. Completed this rapid sketch in 1:30 hrs. Done with Pigma micron pens and black brush pen.

Pune Sketchers Meet sketch today – Tulshibaug Ram Mandir

Tulsibaug is one of the most happening areas of old Pune, and presents numerous opportunities to capture the hustle-bustle of the modern city mingled with the nostalgic feel of a time bygone.

Today’s Pune Sketchers’ meet was at the centuries old Tulsibaug Ram Mandir. I drew only the top of this temple building outside the main temple, since it was so much exquisitely carved. I drew the stone temple below this separately (on the right side). Did some finishing touches to this by applying ink by brush.
